Gripple, Sheffields celebrated innovative and employee-owned manufacturer, is delighted to have been shortlisted in two notable regional award schemes the 2017 CIBSE Yorkshire Awards and the Sheffield Business Awards.
Gripple is listed in the CIBSE awards Commercial and IndustrialProject of Year category in which the judges look for an exceptional building in terms of design approach and wide-ranging solutions. In Gripples case it was the newly extended Riverside factory which impresses.
Riverside is a green building, reducing its energy requirements off the grid by more than 20% from a combination of its 400 solar panels and river water heating system. The eco feel is complemented by a state of the art aquaponic-based green wall. The extended factory has created 15 jobs, allowing the company to increase production by more than 10 per cent.
Gripple appears in the Employer of the Year category of the Sheffield Business Awards in which the criteria are why learning and development is important; how training needs and skills requirements are assessed; its staff incentive schemes and how investment, commitment and support are delivered to staff.
